Pediatric Home Connection
For children from birth through 21 years of age
Taking care of medically fragile children is not an easy job. Pediatric Home Connection provides home nursing care to children from 4-16 hours per day. This care is provided so that parents can sleep, work, or go to school. Our qualified and specialized nursing staff is competent in ventilators, tube feedings, IV therapy, and medication administration.
Each child in Pediatric Home Connection has specific and specialized needs requiring an individualized plan of care. As a specialty service of Home Nursing Agency, Pediatric Home Connection also has an extensive network of resources and offers a wide range of additional services for children living with a chronic and/or life-limiting condition. Children from birth to 21 years old can receive physical, occupational, and speech therapy.
We carefully match the expertise and skill set of our nurses with your child’s needs and preferences, providing specialized orientation for your child’s care. We coordinate a team of staff who are educated about your child’s care and schedule nursing shifts up to a month in advance to best accommodate your daily routine and planning. However, our team is flexible if your needs change.
Care is offered in a variety of settings. Children can be cared for at home, have a nurse accompany them to school, and in some cases, our nurses may attend physician appointments to enhance care coordination. Some of the conditions and diagnoses of our patients include, but are not limited to the following:
- Technology-dependent: mechanical ventilation, tracheotomy, feeding tube
- Respiratory Disorders (cystic fibrosis)
- Feeding Disorders
- Cardiovascular Abnormalities (Shone's Complex)
- Neuromuscular Disorders (Seizure disorders, Huntingdon's disease)
- Neurological Disorders (cerebral palsy)
- Congenital Abnormalities
- Spinal Cord Injuries
- Anoxic and Traumatic Brain Injuries

Our care plans are patient-centered, and we select nurses that will best complement your needs. Our priority is to maintain the routine you have developed for your child. Families need additional support, not paid for by medical or government insurances, and the Home Nursing Agency Foundation mission grants have provided funds to cover the cost of relief services for parents and families in this service. One example of a mission grant at work was in the life of a family with a four-year-old son on a continuous feeding tube.
“The parents have not been able to go out to dinner alone for four years. They have no other family members who are comfortable watching him because of his complex medical needs. We were able to provide an evening of nursing service so they could go out and celebrate their wedding anniversary. The comment the mother made to me was that it was the best gift she could have ever received.” – Pediatric Home Connection Nurse
