 2010 Upcoming Events - Lactation Counselor Certificate Training Program to be held in May Tracy Kelley, Nutrition Education and Breastfeeding Coordinator for Home Nursing Agency's WIC program, will be leading the Lactation Counselor Certificate Training Program (CLC) on May 10 - 14, 2010. Tracy collaborated with the staff from Altoona Regional Health System, who agreed to host the five-day workshop. An accredited program provided by the Healthy Children Project, Inc., CLC offers comprehensive breastfeeding management training, practical skills, time-saving strategies for successful breastfeeding, and strategies for infants with special needs. According to WIC Director, Diana Wallace, Tracy's collaborative efforts with ARHS helped to secure a CLC training location in Pennsylvania, which provides 45 contact hours for RNs. To date, six WIC agencies throughout Pennsylvania have already expressed interest and are enrolling staff.
