Home Nursing Agency Recognizes Dedicated Employees
Six employees of the Home Nursing Agency were recently recognized for dedication, commitment and excellence in their work at the annual Home Nursing Agency Employee Recognition Breakfast at the Casino in Altoona. Many other employees were recognized for longevity of service to the organization. All were congratulated by more than 300 of their peers in attendance at the event.
“For the past 21 years, we've set aside time to recognize and express appreciation to staff for many years of service and dedication to making a true difference in people's lives,” said Robert Packer, President and CEO of Home Nursing Agency.
Each year, recognition awards are bestowed upon employees whose dedication, achievements and commitment have been noted by their fellow employees through the nomination process.
These awards reflect the respect and admiration their co-workers have for these employees.
Elaine Sheehan, of Loretto; Kim Lee, of Duncansville/Blair County; and Sallie Flemming, of Altoona/Blair County, were the recipients of the Dorothy Tartaglio Extra Effort Awards, named in memoriam for a former Home Nursing Agency Vice-President of Corporate Affairs until her death in 1993. In recognition of Dot's tireless enthusiasm for helping others, this award is given annually to the employee who demonstrates an extra effort in promoting enthusiasm, spirit, and goodwill among employees.
Penny Tronzo, of Summerhill/Cambria County, was presented with the Mary B. Kraft Award, which was established in October 1983. She was the first employee of the agency and was a member of the incorporating and charter Board of Directors. This award is presented annually to the employee most exemplifying the ideals and values of Home Nursing Agency.
Receiving the Glenda McGuire Homemaker/Home Health Aide Awards was Vickie Grazier, of Bellwood/Blair County; and Joan Griffith, of Alum Bank/Bedford County. The Glenda McGuire Award was established in 1985 as a memorial to Glenda, a homemaker/health aide with Home Nursing Agency from 1973 until her death in 1985. She was one of the first aides trained by the agency and the award is presented to an agency homemaker/home health aide who reflects her warmth and care in the services they provide as well as her loyalty to the agency.
