Home Nursing Agency employees, board members, volunteers, and officials from Highmark's Caring Place, along with Cambria County civic/government officials, gathered on November 16 in Ebensburg to announce the opening of Home Nursing Agency Bereavement Services for Children and Their Families. The ribbon-cutting was well-attended and captured the attention of several media outlets. Over the past year, Home Nursing Agency, in collaboration with the Highmark Caring Place, A Center for Grieving Children, Adolescents and Their Families, has been laying the groundwork for this specialized service, which is accessible to the community from the Agency's Ebensburg site, 118 Ebony Road, along Rt. 22.
"The goal of the Caring Place, and now of Home Nursing Agency's Bereavement Services, is to ensure that all children who are grieving the death of a loved one have the support that they need. The Caring Place and Home Nursing Agency are essential resources for grieving children, their families and the entire community - because we all need to work together to support grieving children," said Terese Vorsheck, Highmark Caring Place Director.
