
AIDS CANDLELIGHT SERVICE HELD BY HOME NURSING AGENCY
The volunteers, clients and staff of Home Nursing Agency's AIDS Intervention Project (AIP) presented an International Candlelight Memorial Service on Sunday May, 15 at Temple Beth Israel, 3004 Union Avenue, Altoona from 4-6 p.m.
The service of remembrance is multi-denominational and will be observed worldwide to commemorate those who have passed away as a result of AIDS/HIV as well as to show support for those living with the disease. Fellowship and refreshments will follow the candlelight service.
Presently, Home Nursing Agency's AIDS Intervention Project cares for nearly 70 clients from Bedford, Blair, Fulton, and Huntingdon Counties, who are HIV positive. AIP assists clients with medical and housing as well as supportive and educational services. The Agency's AIDS Intervention Project is Pennsylvania's oldest AIDS service provider and refuge for anyone afflicted with the AIDS/HIV virus.
AIP provides community-based and confidential services designed to assist those affected with HIV/AIDS to live with courage and dignity. AIP promotes prevention of the spread of HIV through many educational experiences offered to clients and the community.
