
Local Surgeon Produces Award Winning Play on End-of-Life Care
Mortal Coil: Voices from the Hospice was performed at the Penn State Altoona Community Arts Center on Thursday, August 18 at 7:30 p.m. Written and performed by New York City actor Lester Shane, Mortal Coil is a deeply moving yet funny one-man play that tells the stories of thirteen characters in a hospice unit, each confronting their own end-of-life issues. Mortal Coil is a must see for health professionals and theatre lovers alike.
Dr. John Anastasi, a cardiothoracic surgeon with the Altoona Regional Health System and accomplished playwright, actor, and producer will produce the show, which is sponsored by Home Nursing Agency.
