Home Nursing Agency's Mercedes Moment Raises Money for Hospice Care Duncansville Woman Holds Winning Number - 155 - To Win Mercedes Sedan

Home Nursing Agency's Friends of the Foundation and Honorary Co-chairpersons Michael-Gerard Moncman, DO, and Patricia Moncman, are pleased to announce that the 2005 Hospice Mercedes Moment and Summer Party raised more than $50,000 to benefit Home Nursing Agency's Hospice and Bereavement Services.

The highlight of the event, held June 4 at the Laurel Lodge, Duncansville, was the 7 p.m. announcement of the winner of a new Mercedes C240 Sedan. The winning ticket for the car was based on the Pennsylvania Lottery's three-digit number for that evening. Shirley Quigley of Duncansville held the winning ticket - 155. Quigley is retired from Commercial Envelope and has purchased Mercedes Moment tickets over the past three years. “I chose to purchase these tickets because of the good work performed by Home Nursing Agency.” She had the option to choose the car, or a $30,000 cash prize. “I decided to keep the luxury C240 sedan,” she said.

Since its inception three years ago, Mercedes Moment has raised over $100,000 to support Home Nursing Agency's mission of assisting individuals and families throughout Bedford, Blair, Centre, Huntingdon, Cambria, Franklin and Fulton counties to access the care they deserve, especially those with limited means. Home Nursing Agency's Hospice team consists of caring professionals who provide support, relief and companionship for patients experiencing a life-limiting illness so that they may live as comfortably as possible.

Honorary Co-chair, Michael Gerard-Moncman, DO, is deeply appreciative to the community for supporting the noble cause and for helping to ensure hospice is available for those who embrace the hospice philosophy. “I want to thank those who displayed such great generosity to benefit Home Nursing Agency's Hospice Program and Bereavement Services. Now more than ever, people are educated on medical options and have greater access to information about the type of care they desire. If they choose hospice, we want to be there for them," Moncman said.

Highmark Blue Cross/Blue Shield, M & T Bank, Kopp Drug, Home Health Resource, and Forever Broadcasting were among the major sponsors of the Agency's Mercedes Moment and the annual Summer Party. “Home Nursing Agency is extremely appreciative for the generosity exhibited on behalf of the Friends of the Foundation, local businesses, and organizations that contributed their time, talents and resources to ensure a successful event,” added Robert Packer, President/CEO of Home Nursing Agency.
