Home Nursing Agency Recognizes Employees, Celebrates Compassion In Action; Top 10 Ranking

During Home Nursing Agency's Annual Employee Recognition Breakfast, the more than 850 employees of the organization were recognized for outstanding service and dedication. Additionally, seven employees were awarded special commendation by their peers for extraordinary commitment to the Agency. The event was held at the Blair County Convention Center and celebrated the theme 'Compassion In Action'. Nearly 150 employees were also recognized for perfect attendance and longevity of service to the Agency.

President/CEO Robert Packer along with Master of Ceremonies Tom Riley and over 400 employees attending congratulated the award winners during the event, which also commemorated the Agency's ranking as the eighth Best Place to Work in Pennsylvania from the Great Place to Work ®Institute - an independent company, which also conducts Fortune Magazine's 100 best companies to work for in America..

"The Best Places to Work designation was employee-driven, and congratulations belong to all the employees of Home Nursing Agency. This is a tremendous honor and true reflection of the special people that are part of the "Home Nursing Agency Family". Moreover, it validates the exceptional culture created by Agency staff and adds significantly to our competitive advantage," said Bob Packer, while speaking to employees during the brunch.

Each year, recognition awards are bestowed upon employees whose dedication, achievements and commitment have been noted by their fellow employee(s) who demonstrate an exceptional effort in promoting enthusiasm, spirit, and goodwill among employees.

Lou Kensinger, Spring Cove, was presented with the Mary B. Kraft Award. Kensinger has been with the Agency for 22 years and serves as an event specialist and Coordinator of the Agency's Fight the Flu Campaign and Holiday Helper. This award is presented annually to the employee most exemplifying the ideals and values of Home Nursing Agency's first employee and member of the incorporating Board of Directors - Mary Kraft.

Two Altoona residents were recipients of the Dorothy 'Dot' Tartaglio Extra Effort Award. Cheryl Saive is the Patient Account Manager for Home Nursing Agency and Robin Metzgar is a Teaching Assistant for Easter Seals Lily Pond Child Development Center.

Receiving the Glenda McGuire Homemaker/Home Health Aide/Program Assistant Awards were Home Health Aides Fern Deremer, Osterburg; Neva Ritchey, Johnstown; Betty Harcerlode, Woodbury; and Betsy Steward, Roaring Spring. Glenda McGuire was one of the first aides trained by the Agency and the award is presented to an Agency homemaker/home health aide/program assistant who reflects her warmth and care in the services they provide as well as her loyalty to the Agency.
