Healing Patch Hosts "A Patch of Blue" Fundraiser on Oct. 4th

The community is invited to “A Patch of Blue,” a casual evening to celebrate Home Nursing Agency’s Healing Patch: A Program for Loss and Hope for Grieving Children and Their Families.

The event will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Thurs., Oct. 4 at The Healing Patch, 5416 Sixth Ave., Altoona.

Tickets are $35 per person.

Wear your favorite pair of blue jeans for a casual evening with food, spirits and the sounds of Tommy Wareham and The Intrigues.

Throughout the evening, participants can stroll through the center and learn first-hand why this free program is so vital to grieving children, their families and the community.

According to statistics, one in seven children will experience the loss of a loved one by the time they finish high school.

The Healing Patch offers children and families hope as they work through their grief. It is a free peer support program designed specifically for children and their families who have suffered the loss of a loved one, such as a parent, sibling, grandparent or close family member.
