
Home Nursing Agency Recognizes Dedicated Employees &
Celebrates 35th Anniversary
Seven employees of the Home Nursing Agency were recently recognized for dedication, commitment and excellence in their work at the annual Home Nursing Agency Employee Recognition Breakfast. The event was held at the Blair County Convention Center in Altoona. In addition, 147 employees were recognized for perfect attendance and longevity of service to the Agency. President/CEO Robert Packer along with over 400 of their peers congratulated the award winners during the event, which also commemorated the Agency's 35th Anniversary.
“Each of us symbolizes the theme of our 35th Celebration - Compassion, Trust and Experience. Your actions and deeds have been instrumental to making our mission possible everyday. Our signature of service and hallmark of diversity truly set us apart and it's a privilege to present the employee recognition and service awards,” said Bob Packer, who spoke to employees during the brunch.
Recognition awards are bestowed upon employees whose dedication, achievements and commitment have been noted by their fellow employees through the nomination process.
The following were the recipients of the Dorothy Tartaglio Extra Effort Awards, named in memoriam for a former Home Nursing Agency Vice-President of Corporate Affairs until her death in 1993. This award is given annually to the employee(s) who demonstrate an extra effort in promoting enthusiasm, spirit, and goodwill among employees.
Sue Lamertina of Hollidaysburg - Nutritionist for the WIC (Women, Infants and Children) program for over 20 years; Lorrie Hetager of Gallitzin - Program Specialist from the ACEL (Adults for Exceptional Learning) Program; Debra States of Huntingdon, Occupational Therapist.
Larry Hite of Altoona was presented with the Mary B. Kraft Award. Hite is the Director of the ACEL (Adults for Exceptional Learning) Program. This award was established in October 1983. Kraft was the first employee of the Agency and was a member of the incorporating and charter Board of Directors. This award is presented annually to the employee most exemplifying the ideals and values of Home Nursing Agency.
Receiving the Glenda McGuire Homemaker/Home Health Aide/Program Assistant Awards was Home Health Aide Donna Brawley of Hollidaysburg with 26 years of outstanding service; Regina Osmolinski of Altoona, a psychiatric care assistant for the behavioral health program since 1984; Cathy Kontorchick of Carrolltown, who has worked at the Ebensburg Adult Day Care since 1997.
The Glenda McGuire Award was one of the first aides trained by the Agency and the award is presented to an Agency homemaker/home health aide/program assistant who reflects her warmth and care in the services they provide as well as her loyalty to the Agency.
